Since 2003, owners and operators Patrick Cuozzo and Shawn Ryan have been “going big” with their restaurant FINS, a three-location, fast-casual, surf-inspired concept along the New Jersey coast. They do it by using only high-quality ingredients, delivering top-notch customer service and serving up big TropiCali flavors. But to this duo, going big doesn’t stop there.
As part of their promise to give back to their communities, they go all out to pitch in any way they can. Whether it’s volunteering to plant dunes to protect shorelines and animals after a storm, hosting a family in need during the holidays or donating to local food banks, the restaurant is committed to supporting a variety of causes and organizations. And those causes and organizations are unbelievably plentiful.
They support an organization called A Walk on Water (AWOW) that serves children with unique needs through Surf Therapy. They participate in fundraisers by making monthly donations of gift baskets. They donate turkeys to families at Thanksgiving. They help stock the Bradley Beach Food Pantry. They collaborate with the Wounded Warrior Project and the Tunnels to Towers Foundation to raise money for veterans. They donate to a yearly dance-a-thon called Squan-A-Thon that raises money for pediatric cancer research. They support local youth by sponsoring participation in surf and skate competitions. And the list goes on and on.
The enthusiastic generosity of Patrick, Shawn and the whole FINS family demonstrates their gratitude, sense of duty and deep-seeded caring they have for their communities. And it shows that their mantra of “going big” is more than a slogan – it’s a reflection of the sizes of their hearts.
