Paul Scott

V Pizza
Jacksonville, FL

Paul Scott, owner of the V Pizza restaurant chain in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina, saw firsthand the hardships brought on by cancer when a co-owner’s son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Things as simple as mowing a lawn or cooking a meal suddenly became incredibly burdensome. That’s when Paul decided to form V for Victory, a nonprofit organization that supports families who are battling cancer by providing food and everyday needed services.

Through V for Victory, Paul helps families in three distinct ways. The first is called Bricks of Love, a program that provides a new set of Legos for children after every scan, port injection, doctor visit, bloodwork appointment or other cancer-related treatment, adding a moment of positivity to an otherwise difficult experience. Part two enlists the help of local businesses who provide their service specialty to one family a month. Whether it’s lawn care, automotive repair, food service or pet care, recipients receive no bill, with associated costs being paid by V for Victory. The final way Paul helps is by donating weekly meals at his restaurants. V Pizza provides $20 per family member every week until they ring the bell and beat cancer. In one month alone, they gave free meals to more than 450 families, and this number gets higher each month. V for Victory continues to demonstrate the impact communities can have when they rally together.
